Registration of a Group Training Organisation - Tasmania


You may require this registration if you intend to provide group training services. A group training organisation is a business that employs trainees or apprentices under training contracts, and places them with host employers. A host employer is an organisation that hosts, under a written agreement, an apprentice or trainee employed by a group training organisation.

Registration is required if you train more than 10 trainees or apprentices under training contracts. A training contract is an agreement to provide training that leads to a qualification.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration you must:

  • comply with the National Standards for Group Training Organisations
  • comply with the Tasmanian Operational Requirements
  • submit the Notification of Intent to Register form
  • conduct a self-assessment evidence report
  • pay the application fee.
