You will require this registration if you intend to create, amend, consolidate or cancel a staged development scheme. This is part of a two-step registration process for staged development schemes, specifically:
- First you must obtain a certificate of approval from the relevant Council; and
- Then you must lodge your staged development scheme with the relevant State Government Agency.
The registration of a staged development scheme creates a staged development scheme for the specified property. A staged development scheme is a development involving the registration of a series of strata plans. Strata plans are property divided into lots (private property) and common property. The common property is managed by a Body Corporate, which is made up of all lot owners acting as a single body.
