Registration of Mooring - Tasmania

Description

You may need this registration to install and use a vessel mooring in Tasmanian waters. You will need to ensure you meet the rules that apply to the location, servicing and alteration of moorings. It is recommended you seek advice from a mooring contractor or naval architect on the type of mooring device that will best suit your vessel and weather exposure.

You will need to lift and inspect the mooring at least once every two years to ensure the mooring is in good order and condition. You may need to provide proof of service to MAST. You will also need to ensure your mooring buoy displays your permit number above the water line, with a text height of at least 75mm.
