Safe Design of Structures Code of Practice - Tasmania


You may be required to comply with this Code if you intend to design structures that will be used, or could reasonably be expected to be used, at a workplace.

This Code applies to architects, building designers, engineers, and other persons involved in making decisions that influence design outcomes, such as clients, developers and builders.

A structure is anything that is constructed, including:

  • buildings
  • masts
  • towers
  • framework
  • pipelines
  • roads
  • bridges
  • rail infrastructure
  • underground works such as shafts or tunnels
  • any component or part of a structure.
