You may need to comply with these standing orders and clinical guidelines if you are a controlling authority, medical practitioner, nurse or any other person and intend to exercise your responsibilities with regard to any treatment, clinical procedure or clinical matter within the mental health field.

Clinical guidelines provide practical assistance to clinicians working in approved mental health hospitals, assessment centres and in community mental health teams when exercising their responsibilities. The standing orders provide direction in relation to these matters.

The clinical guidelines and standing orders may be modified over time. Please make sure you are complying with the most recent version.
