If you are farming on urban land, you may apply to your local council to have your land reclassified as urban farm land. Urban farm land:
- provides the owner with their principal livelihood
- has an increased value due to the proximity to residential, industrial or commercial land, or due to a substantial demand for rural residential land
- is used for substantial agricultural, pastoral, forestry, horticultural, viticultural, apicultural, fruit growing, dairy farming, poultry farming or horse farming purposes.
