Fishing Licence (Abalone Quota) - Tasmania

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to take or possess an amount of abalone, up to the amount specified by the number of quota units held. Please note, to harvest abalone you must also hold the abalone dive licence.

In Tasmania these licences are very limited in number and are non-transferrable. They are commonly referred to as Furneaux Licences, in relation to the region in which the operators work.

Serious penalties apply to the misuse or abuse of the practice of harvesting abalone.
