Description

You will require this permit if you intend to supply needles or syringes as part of the needle and syringe program (NSP). The NSP is a public health initiative to minimise the spread of blood borne viruses HIV / AIDS and hepatitis B and C among drug users and to the wider community. The types of organisations that may require this permit include:

  • community health services
  • community service organisations
  • neighbourhood and community houses
  • aboriginal health services
  • regional hospitals
  • councils
  • youth organisations
  • pharmacies.
