Registration as a Surveyor - Tasmania

Description

You will require this registration if you intend to practice as a land surveyor in Tasmania. This includes undertaking work in cadastral, engineering, hydrographic, mining, geodetic and other surveying specialities.

If you hold a current equivalent registration in another Australian State or Territory, or New Zealand, you may be eligible to apply for this registration under mutual recognition arrangements.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this registration, you must:

  • Be registered as a candidate with the prescribed institute;
  • Completed the relevant courses of study;
  • Have obtained the required professional practical experience;
  • Have submitted a series of pre-examination surveys for mentoring purposes; and
  • Complete and submit the relevant application form, accompanied by the prescribed fee.

Duration

Annual. No provision is made for late lodgements.

Expiry

Application of renewal of registration is to be made by the 31 December each year.
