Accident Tow Truck Driver Accreditation - Victoria

Description

You will need this accreditation if you are the driver or driver's assistant of a tow truck and intend on driving to an accident scene within an accident tow truck allocated area. These include the metropolitan areas of Melbourne, Geelong or Mornington Peninsula.

This authorisation approves the people involved in the towing operation. Separate licensing requirements will apply to the accident tow truck business operation.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this accreditation you must:

  • hold a current full Victorian Driver's Licence
  • hold a current National Police Certificate

If you hold a current Victorian Probationary Driver's Licence, you can only apply for this authorisation if you are employed at an accident towing depot in a role other than a tow truck driver, or if you are an immediate member of a family business that owns and operates a towing licence.
