Accident Tow Truck Trainee Permit - Victoria

Description

To be able to drive an accident tow truck, you must be accredited.  If you are new to the tow truck industry, it can be helpful to obtain a trainee permit before applying for accreditation. This permit allows you to gain on-the-job training and experience the requirements of an accident tow truck driver (for example, attending an accident scene, securing a damaged vehicle to a tow truck, salvage, cleaning up debris, etc) while under the supervision of an experienced and accredited driver.

  • hold a current full Victorian Driver's Licence
  • complete a National Police Record Check
  • provide two passport size colour photos of yourself
  • be sponsored by an accredited operator or depot manager
  • be of good character, health and technical ability
  • pay any required fees.
