Agricultural Chemical Control Area Permit (ACCA) - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to use chemicals in an Agricultural Chemical Control Area (ACCA) that would otherwise be prohibited. ACCA's were established to protect herbicide sensitive and high value crops.

Restrictions apply to the types of herbicide in use, their method of application (such as aerial spraying or mister application) and the periods in which the chemicals can be used.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • submit an application form
  • provide any information that may be required
  • have the required training, experience and qualifications
  • have a clear criminal record for the last ten years
  • pay any required fees

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You must keep specified records for all chemical products used within forty-eight hours of using the chemical product, and to keep these records for a period of two years.

Lodgement process

Apply

Please lodge your application and required documentation directly with the Agency. You will need to attach:

  • any documentation regarding a prior conviction under the specified Acts
  • the prescribed fee
  • a map or diagram showing the location of the property where spraying is to occur.

Approval time

ACCA Applications should be submitted at least four weeks before the time you intend to carry out the spraying, to allow enough time for processing.
