There are legal restrictions to holding events on ANZAC Day (25 April). You will need this approval if you intend to hold a sporting or public entertainment event on ANZAC Day. Types of events that require approval include bicycle races, foot races, cricket or football matches or other types of game or contests where people pay an admission fee or make a donation to watch.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
Approval will only be granted if your event is a genuine commemoration of ANZAC Day or it will not detract from the commemorative nature of ANZAC Day.

Your event must not start before 1pm and alcohol cannot be sold before noon.
As a condition of approval, the Agency may direct that a portion of the net profit from sporting events be paid into the ANZAC Day Proceeds Fund.
