Approval in Principle for Health Services Establishment - Victoria


You will need this approval if you intend to construct, alter, extend, vary and use a health services establishment. An approval in principle (AIP) is a conditional approval granted by the Agency. A health services establishment is a private hospital, mobile health service or day procedure centre.

Variations such as altering the number of beds and the type of health services provided will require this approval.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this approval you must:

  • be able to provide the proposed services
  • provide details of your qualifications, experience, character, financial details and any offending history
  • submit any design drawings, plans or specifications
  • give notice to any other owner or lessee of the premises of the intention for an approval in principle for a health service establishment.
