Description

You will need this approval if you intend to construct, alter, extend, vary and use a health services establishment.

A health services establishment is a private hospital, mobile health service or day procedure centre.

Please note, variations to existing health services establishments, such as altering the number of beds and the type of health services provided, will require this approval.

Please note, the approval process to register a health services establishment is a staged process, as below:

  1. apply and be issued with a Certificate of Approval in Principle (AIP).
  2. apply for registration of a health service establishment.

A health service establishment may not commence operation (admit patients) until both stages have been completed.
