Assessor's Approval - Victoria

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to assess security plans or transport security plans. Security plans and transport security plans are developed by radiation management licence holders who intend to possess or transport high consequence sealed sources or groups of sealed sources. These plans are required to be assessed by an approved assessor.

A high consequence sealed source is either a category 1, 2 or 3 sealed source. High consequence groups of sealed sources are two or more individual sealed sources kept in the same location or transported in the same vehicle. A sealed source is radioactive material that is either permanently sealed in a capsule or closely bound and in solid form.

Eligibility requirements

In order to obtain an this approval you must:

  • be a Nationally Accredited Radiation Security Advisor
  • completed a Graduate Certificate in Radiation Security.

Please note the providers of the Graduate Certificate (Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency, ARPANSA) is not currently running the program. As such, the Agency is unable to issue new approvals for approved assessors.
