Australian Design Rule ADR 13 Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on Other L-Group Vehicles - Victoria

Description

You will be required to comply with Australian Design Rule 13 if you intend to be involved in the design, manufacture or importation of rear marker plates for special purpose vehicles. Special purpose vehicle means:

  • a light vehicle built or modified for a primary purpose other than carrying goods or passengers
  • a forklift
  • a straddle carrier
  • a mobile cherry picker
  • a mobile crane.

This Australian Design Rule (ADR) is referred to in the Catalogue of ADRs (3rd Edition) as 'ADR 13 Installation of Lighting and Light-signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles'. The function of this ADR is to ensure that the installation of the lighting and light-signalling devices on the vehicle is such that the effective operation of these devices is not impaired.

The legislation adopts this code as amended from time to time.
