Australian Standard AS 1428.1-2001 Design for Access and Mobility - Victoria

Description

You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to construct a building that has mobility access. This includes considerations being made for:

  • wheelchair access
  • use-specific facilities
  • sensory requirements (such as Braille signs).

This standard sets out minimum design requirements for new building work, as required by the Building Code of Australia (BCA), to enable access for people with disabilities. It covers aspects of access to and within a building.
