You may require this Standard if you employ people to work on a building or permanent structure, such as a platform, walkway, stairs or ladders.
Occupational health and safety regulations impose a duty on employers to take steps to limit the risk of falls at the workplace. This duty does not apply in respect of tasks undertaken on parts of a building or structure that:
- are being used for the purpose for which they were designed
- comply with the applicable requirements of this standard
- comply with any applicable requirements of the Building Regulations 2006.
This standard establishes processes for identifying and mitigating fall hazards.
You will be required to comply with the latest version of this standard.
Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
