You may need to comply with this standard if you work or employ people to work on a building or permanent structure, such as a platform, walkway, stairs or ladders.
Occupational health and safety regulations impose a duty on employers to take steps to limit the risk of falls at the workplace. This duty does not apply in respect of tasks undertaken on parts of a building or structure that:
- are being used for the purpose for which they were designed
- comply with the applicable requirements of this standard
- comply with any applicable requirements of the Building Regulations 2006.
This standard establishes processes for identifying and mitigating fall hazards.
