Australian Standard AS 2030 Gas Cylinders - Victoria

You are required to comply with this standard if you intend to use gas from gas cylinders. A gas cylinder is a rigid vessel not exceeding 3000 litres in capacity, designed for the storage and transportation of gas under pressure.

This standard is comprised of three parts, dealing with:

  • compressed gases other than acetylene
  • cylinders for dissolved acetylene
  • welded cylinders - insulated.

It specifies requirements for the verification, filling, handling, inspection, testing, and maintenance of refillable gas cylinders and for the storage and transport of compressed gases.

Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
