Australian Standard AS 2885.1:2018 Pipelines - Gas and Liquid Petroleum, Part 1 Design and Construction - Victoria

Description

You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to construct a pipeline. This applies to any pipelines used to carry:

  • petroleum
  • oxygen
  • carbon dioxide
  • hydrogen
  • nitrogen
  • compressed air
  • sulphuric acid
  • methanol.

 

All pipelines must be constructed in accordance with this standard, and with Australian Standard AS 2885.2. In addition, before commencing construction, you must have a Safety Management Plan. The Plan must contain a construction safety plan prepared in accordance with this Standard.

 

This standard specifies the requirements for the design and construction of pipelines used for the transmission of liquids such as:

 

  • natural and manufactured gas
  • liquefied petroleum gas
  • natural gasoline
  • crude oil
  • natural gas liquids
  • liquid petroleum products.
