Australian Standard AS 2885.2-2016 Pipelines - Gas and Liquid Petroleum, Part 2 Welding - Victoria

Description

Note that this standard has been updated and you will need to meet the requirements set out in AS/NZS 2885.2:2020 Pipelines - Gas and Liquid Petroleum Welding.

You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to construct or operate a pipeline. This applies to any pipelines used to carry:

  • petroleum
  • oxygen
  • carbon dioxide
  • hydrogen
  • nitrogen
  • compressed air
  • sulphuric acid
  • methanol.

 

A pipeline must be constructed and operated in accordance with this standard.

 

It specifies the minimum requirements for materials, welding consumables, welding processes, weld preparations, qualifications of welding procedures and personnel, and fabrication and inspection requirements for the construction and maintenance welding of pipelines down to 3.2 mm wall thickness, designed and constructed in accordance with AS 2885.1.
