Australian Standard AS 4234-1994 Solar Water Heaters - Domestic and Heat Pump - Calculation of Energy Consumption - Victoria

You will be required to comply with this standard if you are a plumber and supply or install solar water heaters in Class 1 residential buildings such as sole occupancy homes and guest houses. This standard has been superseded and is now known as AS/NZS 4234:2008 Heated water systems - Calculation of energy consumption.

This Standard sets out a method of determining the annual performance of domestic solar and heat pump water heaters using a combination of test results for component performance and a mathematical model to determine an annual load cycle task performance. This procedure is applicable to solar water heaters with integral boosting or preheating into a conventional water heater and to heat pump water heaters.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required by your business.
