You will need this authority to carry out an extractive activity. An extractive activity means the removal or sale of soil, sand, gravel or stone to a depth of two metres below the surface. It is classed as an extractive activity if the total area of surface broken is greater than 2000 square metres.
This authority does not apply if the extractive activity is:
- carried out on Crown Land
- authorised under other legislation
- solely for the purpose of grading land for primary production.
The application for this authority must be made by the manager of any potential extractive activity site.
