Description

You will require this registration if you intend to provide or advertise booking services for commercial passenger vehicles.

A booking service provider is an organisation, or person, that is in the business of receiving requests from customers booking a commercial passenger vehicle service, and arranging or accepting requests by, or on behalf of, commercial passenger vehicle drivers. The booking service can be provided through an automated or semi-automated electronic system, including an application, website, through a phone or any other means of communication.

A commercial passenger vehicle service includes taxi-cabs, hire cars, rideshare and wedding cars.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration, you must:

  • complete the registration form
  • complete a form for each relevant person (e.g. managers, partners, management committee members, or officers)
  • provide all the relevant information, including evidence of identification requested on the form
  • pay the prescribed fee.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

As a booking service provider, you must maintain a register of safety risks. You must also identify and manage safety risks associated with commercial passenger vehicle services.

You must abide by the responsibilities set out in the regulations and Acts. All booking service providers must ensure they are familiar with the requirements and expectations.
