Certificate of Final Inspection - City of Casey - Victoria

Description

Your building permit will specify if you require a certificate of final inspection from your appointed building surveyor.

This certificate is generally required if an occupancy permit is not required.  Extensions and alterations to existing homes do not require an occupancy permit, as the existing building should already have an occupancy permit.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this certificate, you must:

  • ensure that the relevant Building Surveyor is notified without delay after completion of each mandatory notification stage of building work
  • supply all particulars as required
  • pay any required fees.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

The person in charge of carrying out building work (generally the building practitioner) must notify the relevant building surveyor at the completion of each mandatory notification stage of building:

  • prior to placing a footing
  • prior to pouring an in-situ reinforced concrete member nominated by the relevant building surveyor
  • completion of framework
  • upon completion of all building work.
