Description

You will need to comply with the Clinical Practice Protocols if you provide non-emergency patient transport services. This involves transporting patients who require clinical monitoring for the duration of the journey:

  • during inter-hospital transfers
  • during transport from the hospital to the patients home
  • during transport from the patients home to the hospital.

The Clinical Practice Protocols describe medically approved protocols for the provision of non-emergency patient transport. It provides a consistent framework for officer knowledge, education and training.

You must also ensure that all your staff are provided with annual training in these Protocols.
