Code of Accepted Farming Practice for the Welfare of Deer - Victoria


This code outlines the basic requirements for persons responsible for the welfare and husbandry of deer. It provides guidance for managers, stockmen and others on a range of requirements for the welfare of deer, including:

  • food and water
  • shelters and accommodation
  • management practices
  • protection from climate extremes and predators
  • health and well-being
  • transportation.

Compliance with this code of practice is not mandatory. However, by complying with this code you can demonstrate that you have met your legal obligations.
