Code of Practice for the Public Display and Exhibition of Animals - Victoria

Description

This code is intended to provide guidance to the operation of any zoo, wildlife park, travelling animal exhibition or circus. The code provides minimum standards for the maintenance of health and for the husbandry, housing, display and disposal of wildlife and exotic animals held in confinement.

Compliance with this code of practice is not mandatory. However, by complying with this code you can demonstrate that you have met your legal obligations. Providing that you have complied with this code can be used as a defence against a charge of cruelty or aggravated cruelty to animals.
