All Victorian dairy manufacturers are required to meet the requirements detailed in the relevant Code. The Code sets the minimum mandatory standards for the production, manufacture, storage and transport of milk and dairy foods to safeguard public health. It must be used in conjunction with the Food Standards Code.
All Victorian dairy manufacturers will need to:
- have a food safety program approved by the Agency that addresses the requirements in the relevant Code
- have a recall procedure in place, based on the FSANZ Food Industry Recall Protocol
- label all products in accordance with the legislation contained in the Food Standards Code.
Licence holders are subject to terms and conditions as determined by the Agency. The licence conditions are specific to each licence category.
