Electrical Switchgear Workers Licence - Victoria

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to carry out electrical installation work that is limited to the assembly, alteration, repair and maintenance of switchgear and controlgear assemblies.

Switchgear and controlgear assembly means switching devices together with associated equipment such as internal electrical, mechanical and structural parts. It must be assembled under the responsibility of a manufacturer.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • have completed a four year contract of training as an electrical fitter that has included twelve months experience in carrying out electrical switchgear fitting work
  • hold a Certificate III in Switchgear and Controlgear
  • satisfactorily complete the relevant theory and practical assessment.

To be granted this licence you must meet all the criteria specified by the Agency.
