First Aid Services Licence - Victoria

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a commercial first aid service in Victoria.

There are three classes of first aid service:

  • basic first aid service
  • intermediate first aid service
  • advanced first aid service.

The licensing of first aid services provides minimum standards in the provision of first aid across a wide range of service delivery areas including but not limited to public events, sporting events, construction and industrial sites, film, and television.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must be able to demonstrate suitability of the:

  • equipment that will be used in the First Aid service
  • clinical governance, management and staffing arrangements and the compliance and recording of those arrangements
  • care to be provided by the service to patients (i.e. safe and of an appropriate quality).

Please note, you will be required to obtain public liability insurance and professional indemnity liability insurance as specified by the agency.
