Geothermal Special Access Authorisation - Victoria

Description

You will require this authorisation if you intend to carry out geothermal energy exploration in a specified area. This authorisation does not allow the holder to make a well or give any rights to geothermal energy that is found.

It is not necessary for the holder of this authorisation to also be the holder of an Exploration Permit, Retention Lease or Extraction Licence. If the land that the applicant intended to explore falls under a permit, lease or licence, the Agency will determine whether this will be detrimental to the current permit, lease or licence holder. They must also give written consent for this authorisation.
