Highway Race Permit - Victoria

Description

You will need this permit if you intend to conduct a foot or bike race (including triathlons and marathons) on a road-related area, including rolling road closures.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • provide a certificate of currency for public liability insurance
  • obtain approval from all relevant road authorities (local Council and / or VicRoads)
  • provide copies of the Event Management Plan, Traffic Management Pland and a clear map of the event route.

Lodgement process

Apply

Approvals from all relevant road authorities may be submitted after the 3 month minimum application timeframe, however a permit will not be issues without receiving a copy of these approvals and a valid certificate of currency for Public Liability Insurance. 

Please note, all applications must be received at least 3 months prior to the event date and must be accompanied by the:

  • traffic management plan 
  • event management plan
  • map of the event route.
