Late Night Licence - Victoria

Description

You will need this licence to supply alcohol outside ordinary trading hours (9:00am to 11:00pm).

There are three types of late night licences:

  • Late night (general) - authorising supply of alcohol for on-premises and off-premises consumption as per the current general licence.
  • Late night (on-premises) - authorising supply of alcohol for on-premises consumption only as per the current on-premises licence.
  • Late night (packaged liquor) - authorising supply of alcohol in packaged containers for off-premises consumption as per the current packaged liquor licence.

Your licence will authorise you to supply liquor by orders placed online.

Your licence will specify the hours during which you are permitted to operate.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be a suitable person to run the business
  • have adequate knowledge of liquor licensing law
  • be at least 18 years old (if applying as an individual)
  • not be disqualified from holding a licence or BYO permit under the Act.

You must make an application to the agency by completing the application kit. Please provide any additional information requested by the Director and pay the prescribed fees.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

The holder of this licence must complete an approved advanced responsible service of alcohol programme. This programme must be completed within six months from the date the licence is granted.

In most cases the Agency will impose conditions upon granting the licence. You must comply with any conditions imposed.
