Meat Inspector Registration - Victoria

Description

You will need this registration if you intend to inspect meat at a PrimeSafe licensed facility. This authorises you to undertake work such as inspecting carcasses to determine if they are fit for human consumption.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration you must:

  • have completed a Certificate III in Meat Processing (Meat Safety) or equivalent
  • submit a completed application form and any associated documents
  • pay the application fee.

To operate a meat inspection service in Victoria you must enter into an agreement with the agency. The agreement will contain a range of conditions including a requirement to act independently and objectively when providing inspection services, and to maintain records as required by the agency.
