National Livestock Identification System - Victoria

Description

You will need to ensure all relevant livestock is registered under the National Livestock Identification Scheme (NLIS) to ensure the biosecurity of Victoria and other jurisdictions. The livestock that must be registered under the NLIS are:

  • cattle
  • calves
  • sheep
  • goats.

This system of permanent identification has been implemented throughout Australia and is governed by each State and Territory.
