National Vendor Declaration - Victoria


You will be required to complete a National Vendor Declaration (NVD) when undertaking certain business activities to ensure the maintenance of biosecurity in all Australian jurisdictions. These activities include:

  • transporting livestock between properties
  • sale or buying of livestock
  • abattoir activities
  • weighing of livestock
  • other similar activities.

These requirements must be met for:

  • cattle
  • pigs
  • sheep
  • calves.

To create a NDV you must:

  • have a registered Property Identification Code (PIC)
  • have a Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) code
  • submit the required forms.
