Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service Licence - Victoria

Description

You will need this licence if you are a non-emergency patient transport (NEPT) service and intend to commence transporting patients. NEPT is for patients who require clinical monitoring or supervision during transport, but do not require a time critical ambulance response.

Please note, you may apply for an Approval in Principle (AIP) to assess whether you will meet the requirements for licensing before you commit to purchasing vehicles or premises or to remedy any issues that might prevent you from obtaining a licence. An AIP is not compulsory.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • have a certificate from an approved body stating that your quality assurance plan is certified
  • have ASIC company registration
  • provide Certificate of Business Name, issued by the Office of Business and Corporate Affairs
  • provide a certificate of accreditation of your occupational health and safety plan
  • provide a completed Financial Statement by a Certified Practising Accountant
  • provide infection control management plan.

Duration

The licence is valid for two years from the issue or renewal.
