Offshore Petroleum Exploration Permit - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to explore for petroleum. This permit provides exclusive and renewal rights to explore for petroleum in a defined area.

There are four types of petroleum exploration permits:

  • work-bid: a petroleum exploration permit granted on the basis of work program bidding
  • cash-bid: a petroleum exploration permit granted on the basis of cash bidding
  • special: a petroleum exploration permit granted over a surrendered block or certain other blocks
  • boundary-change: a petroleum exploration permit granted as a result of a change in the boundary of the offshore area.
