Provide a Children's Service - Victoria

Description

You will need this licence to provide a children's service in Victoria.

There are two types of service approval:

  • limited hours services - provide education and care to each child for not more than 3 hours per day and 6 hours per week
  • occasional care services - all other services (no limit on the amount of time children can be educated and cared for).

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • have a Working with Children check
  • submit the required forms
  • pay any prescribed fees.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

The person in charge of an early childhood service must not confirm the enrolment of a child unless the child's parents have provided an immunisation status certificate about the child or be given this certificate within two months before the date of the child's first enrolment. There are some exceptions to this rule.
