Owner Drivers and Forestry Contractors Code of Practice - Victoria

Description

You will need to comply with this code if you are an owner driver, harvesting contractor or a haulage contractor. You will also need to comply with this code if you make arrangements with owner drivers, harvesting contractors or haulage contractors to perform work on your behalf.

Under this code of practice:

  • an owner driver is a person who runs a business that transports goods using vehicles that the person owns and operates
  • a haulage contractor is a person who runs a business transporting forest products using vehicles that the person owns and operates
  • a harvesting contractor is a person who runs a business harvesting forest products using motorised equipment that the person owns and operates.

This code provides mandatory requirements concerning the engagement of contractors, and guidance for hirers and contractors on conduct, contract terms and business operation.
