Description

You will need this permit if you intend to operate an outdoor dining facility in on-street car parking bays.

A parklet is a car parking bay that has been repurposed to create space for hospitality businesses to extend their trading.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • hold a current Footpath Trading Permit
  • ensure your location meets the criteria in the Parklet Policy 
  • hold public liability insurance for at least $20 million
  • have written letters of support from neighbouring businesses and / or residents
  • demonstrate the ability to maintain and upkeep your parklet. 

Please note, this permit is exclusively for hospitality businesses. Please consult the Council for more information regarding eligibility requirements.
