Description

You will need this permit if you intend to operate an outdoor dining facility in on-street car parking bays.

A parklet is a car parking bay that has been repurposed to create space for hospitality businesses to extend their trading.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • provide a detailed site plan of your proposed parklet 
  • hold public liability insurance for at least $20 million
  • plan to establish your parklet on an eligible street with specific traffic conditions
  • satisfy safety and amenity requirements (see technical specifications in appendix)
  • demonstrate support from neighbouring businesses or residences on either side of  your proposed parklet

Please note, this permit is exclusively for hospitality businesses. Please consult the Council for more information regarding eligibility requirements.
