You will need this permit if you intend to operate an outdoor dining facility in on-street car parking bays.

A parklet is a car parking bay that has been repurposed to create space for hospitality businesses to extend their trading.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must provide: 

  • plans for your proposed parklet 
  • letters of support from neighbouring businesses
  • evidence of your commercial lease agreement / property ownership.
  • public liability insurance of at least $20m
  • footpath activities permit number (if applicable)
  • your liquor licence (if applicable)
  • a short statement outlining the vision for your parklet and what you hope to achieve
