Description

You will need this permit if you intend to operate an outdoor dining facility in on-street car parking bays.

A parklet is a car parking bay that has been repurposed to create space for hospitality businesses to extend their trading.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must provide:

  • a detailed site plan (see Parklet Design Guidelines)
  • your Footpath Trading Permit
  • evidence of Department of Transport approval (if required)
  • your intention to amend your liquor licence (if required)
  • public liability insurance covering at least $20 million
  • a letter of support from six neighbouring businesses (3 each side)
  • a concept plan for built structures
  • a Certificate of Compliance (Reg 126)
