Description

You will need this permit if you intend to operate an outdoor dining facility in on-street car parking bays.

A parklet is a car parking bay that has been repurposed to create space for hospitality businesses to extend their trading.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • hold public liability insurance to a value as determined by Council
  • meet the location and traffic conditions as specified by Council.

Duration

Parklets can operate year-round or during a 6 month 'peak' period from 1 November to 30 April.

  • Winchelsea, Deans Marsh and Moriac areas: $127.00
  • other areas, per square metre: $167.00.

There are extra costs for the Parklet structure and maintenance that are at cost to the business owner.
