Parks and Reserve Event Permit - Victoria

Description

You may need this permit if you intend to conduct an event or organised activity on Parks Victoria managed land.

An organised activity may refer to:

  • any activity such as a competition, tournament, festival, concert, promotion, fundraiser, picnic/gathering/private event or celebration, or any other similar event
  • any activity which includes any infrastructure, animals, vehicles, indigenous heritage sites or commercial activity (soliciting or collecting money, advertising, displaying signage).

Eligibility requirements

You must have a minimum of $20 million public liability insurance coverage for the event, noting Parks Victoria as a interested party.

Your event application will be assessed with consideration to environmental impacts, risk to participants and spectators, potential impacts on other users, venue availability and value to tourism and recreational needs.

Approval time

Parks Victoria will provide a response to applicants identifying whether the application is endorsed to proceed within 5 business days of receipt of a permit application. Executed permit to be provided within 10 business days of permit application for standard filming and photography and 20 days for applications that include use of a drone or unmanned aerial vehicle. Timelines for complex or major filming and photography projects will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Parks and Reserves events require you to lodge your application at least 8 weeks beforehand.
