Permission to Construct, Install or Alter an On-Site Wastewater Management System - City of Whitehorse - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to construct, install or alter a septic tank system.

A septic tank system means a system for the bacterial, biological, chemical or physical treatment of sewage and includes all tanks, beds, sewers, drains, pipes, fittings, appliances and land used in connection with the system.

Eligibility requirements

When installing or altering a septic tank system, you must:

  • include a copy of your certificate of conformity from an accredited conformity assessment body (CAB)
  • comply with the relevant Australian Standards
  • comply with any relevant Codes of Practice
  • submit all required forms
  • pay any required fees.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

The system must be assessed annually for permit compliance by an authorised assessor, or as required by council.
