Permit to Acquire a Paintball Marker - Victoria

Description

You will need this permit to acquire a paintball marker (paintball gun). Any firearm that is designed to fire a paintball is classified as a paintball marker. To acquire a new paintball marker you must hold a current paintball marker licence. A separate permit is required for each new paintball marker you obtain.

You do not need this permit if you intend to participate in paintball activities at approved locations using paintball markers owned by someone else, such as the field operator.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • be willing to comply with any conditions imposed on the permit
  • hold a current paintball marker licence.

You must provide sufficient information and documentary evidence to satisfy the Chief Commissioner that you need this permit for the purpose of engaging in paintball activities on approved locations.

Please include with your application:

  • details of your current paintball club or organisation membership and relevant supporting documentation (i.e. a copy of your current membership card or a statement of endorsement from the club or organisation)
  • a brief explanation as to why you need the permit (for example, what activities you intend to undertake)
  • an endorsement from an approved paintball club or paintball operator to support your application
  • any other documentary evidence to support your application and the explanation you have provided.
